ORDINANCF' NO. 3341
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3329 TO CHANGE
THE ELECTION PRECINCTS FOR THE APRIL 3, 1982 ELECTION
TO CONFORM TO THE PRECINCTS DRAWN BY HARRIS COUNTY FOR
1982; AND PROVIDING FOR POSTING AND PUBLICATION OF
NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the three judge federal court in Dallas ordered
that the forthcoming elections in Harris County be conducted
using the new election precincts that were drawn by Harris
County to reflect the new legislative districts; and
WHEREAS, Harris County will be able to provide voter
registration lists and other information necessary to conduct
the April 3, 1982 municipal election using the new election
precincts; and has mailed new voter registration cards
showing the new precincts; and
WHEREAS, use of the old precincts would likely result
in confusion to the voters of Baytown; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That Ordinance Number 3329 is hereby amended
by the repeal of section three of that ordinance as it now
reads and the adoption of a new section three which shall
read as follows:
Section 3: That said City is hereby divided into
Election Precincts and their polling places will be and
election officials shall be, for the purpose of this
election as follows:

The above listed precincts being those as drawn by Harris
County for use in the 1982 elections.
Section 2: The Chief of Police is hereby directed to
post a properly executed copy of the Election Proclamation
and Notice at each Polling Place within the City, said
Notice shall be posted not less than twenty (20) days before
the date of said election. The Mayor is hereby directed to
give notice of said election by publishing a copy of the
Election Proclamation and Notice in a newspaper of general
circulation within said City; said publication to be made
not more than twenty -five (25) days nor less than ten (10)
days prior to the date of said election.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, this the
