Ordinance No. 3,31820211 -2 ORDINANCE NO. 3318 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF YIELD SIGNS ON E. BAKER AT CHAPARRAL AND THE PLACING OF STOP SIGNS ON E. BAKER AT CHAPARRAL AND PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI`T'Y OF BAYTOWN: Section l: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes and by the Traffic Commission, declares the following described intersection will no longer be a yield intersection, but will become a stop intersection, to -wit: E. Baker at Chaparral Section 2: The Director of Planning and Traffic is authorized and directed to cause the removal of the yield sign and to cause the placing of a stop sign at the above described location. Section 3: It shall be unlawful for the driver of a vehicle to disobey the instruction of said signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 4: Any offense under this chapter for which another penalty is not provided is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than One ($1.00) Dollar nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, except that minors who have passed their fourteenth birthday but have not reached their seventeenth birthday shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 5: All ordinances or parts of consistent with the terms of this ordinance pealed; provided, however, that such repeal the extent of such inconsistency and in all this ordinance shall be cumulative of other lating and governing the subject matter cov ordinance. Section 7: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after its passage.
