Ordinance No. 3,19810723 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 3198 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION NORTH OF MASSEY TOMPKINS ROAD, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: On the 13th day of August , 1981, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas, of the following described property, to -wit: TRACT 1: BEGINNING at a point in the Northeast corner of Chaparral Village, Section 4, said point being the Southeast corner of the 36.67 acre Eldon Berry tract and said point being in the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE in a southerly direction with the East boundary line of Chaparral Village, Section 4, and with the existing city limit line to a point for a corner; THENCE in an easterly direction with the North boundary line of Chaparral Village, Section 4, and with the existing city limit line to a point in the West boundary line of the Southern Pacific Railroad; THENCE in a southwesterly direction with the Southern Pacific Railroad and with the existing city limit line to point for a corner; THENCE in a southeasterly direction a distance of approximately 100 feet to the southeasterly right -of- way line of Southern Pacific Railroad, said point being the northern most Northwest corner of the Raven Way Subdivision; THENCE North 79 degrees 47 minutes 01 second East with the North line of said subdivision a distance of 59.85 feet to the Northeast corner of said subdivision; THENCE South 10 degrees 50 minutes 03 seconds East with the most easterly line of said subdivision a distance of 736.08 feet to a Southeast corner of said subdivision; 10723 -1a THENCE South 80 degrees 30 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 135.70 feet to a corner of said subdivision; THENCE South 10 degrees 45 minutes 16 seconds East with an East line of said subdivision a distance of 682.74 feet to a point on the existing corporate limits of the City of Baytown; THENCE in an easterly direction along the existing city limit line being along a line approximately 200 feet north of and parallel to Massey- Tompkins Road, continuing in an easterly direction crossing Crosby -Cedar Bayou Road, and crossing Hardin Road and continuing easterly with the existing city limit line to a point in the West boundary line of the Trailwood Subdivision, said point being approximately 200 feet north of Massey - Tompkins Road; THENCE in a northerly direction along the existing city limit line and along the West boundary line of the Trailwood Subdivision to the Northwest corner of said subdivision; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with the existing city limit line and along the North boundary line of said subdivision to a point for a corner; THENCE in a southerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the East boundary line of the Trailwood Subdivision to a point, said point being approximately 200 feet north of Massey- Tompkins Road; THENCE in an easterly direction with the existing city limit line along a line parallel to and approximately 200 feet north of Plassey- Tompkins Road to a point in the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with the existing city limit line to a point in the South boundary line of the Kings Bend Addition, Section 2; THENCE in a northeasterly direction with the existing city limit line and with the West boundary line of the Kings Bend Addition, Section 2, Blocks 7 and 8 to a point for a corner; THENCE in a westerly direction along the existing city limit line and with the South boundary line of the Kings Bend Addition, Section 3, Block 8 to a point in the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive; said point being approximately 150 feet south of Knight Lane and said point being in the ell corner of the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE in a northerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive to a point in the Northwest corner of the Kings Bend Addition; THENCE in a northwesterly direction with the existing city limit line along Cary's Bayou and with the South boundary line of the Jenkins - Hollaway Park to a point; 10723 -1b THENCE in a northerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the West boundary line of Jenkins - Hollaway Park to a point for a corner; THENCE in a westerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the South boundary line of the Jenkins - Hollaway Park to a point in the East boundary line of the Southern Pacific Railroad for a corner; THENCE in a southwesterly direction with the East boundary line of the Southern Pacific Railroad crossing Crosby -Cedar Bayou Road and continuing to a point in the Southwest corner of the Vernon Merritt one acre tract for a corner; THENCE in a westerly direction crossing the Southern Pacific Railroad and continuing on in a westerly direction to the point of beginning, containing 287.97 acres of land, more or less. TRACT 2: BEGINNING at a point in the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive and in the Northwest corner of Tierra del Oro, Section 2 of the City of Baytown, said point being the Northwest corner of the existing city limit line; THENCE in a westerly direction along the South boundary line of the 10.72 acre W. B. Ramsey tract to a point for a corner, said point being in the East boundary line of Jenkins - Hollaway Park and in the East boundary line of the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE in a southerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the East boundary line of said park to a point; THENCE in an easterly direction with the existing city limit line and with the North boundary line of said park to a point; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with the existing city limit line and with the North boundary line of said park to a point; THENCE in a southerly direction with the existing city limit line and with the East boundary line of said park to a point; THENCE in an easterly direction with the existing city limit line and with the North boundary line of said park to a point in the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive, said point being the Southwest corner of Tierra del Oro, Section 3; THENCE in a northerly direction along the East boundary line of Raccoon Drive and with the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown to the point of beginning, containing 22.53 acres of land, more or less. 10723 -1c Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in the newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended). Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage.
