ORDINANCE NO. 3193
AN ORDINANCE AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR A COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT 80 -01 -05 TO ED
SHOOK BUILDER, INC., FOR THE SUM OF EIGHT THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED & N01100 ($8,500.00) DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown did advertise for bids for
Community Development Program Rehabilitation Project 80 -01 -05
to be received June 30, 1981; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract would be let was published pur-
suant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the City
of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at the
Community Development Office at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30,
1981, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of ED SHOOK BUILDER, INC., for the
sum of EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED & N01100 ($8,500.00)
Dollars, and the City Manager and City Clerk of the City are
hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a
contract with ED SHOOK BUILDER, INC. for Community Development
Rehabilitation Project 80 -01 -05 being the repair and rehabili-
tation of 2105 W. Humble, said contract providing that no money
will be paid to said contractor until completion and acceptance
of the work by the City.
Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of TEX.
REV.CIV.STAT. art. 2368a, the City Manager is hereby granted
general authority to approve any change order involving a
decrease or an increase in costs of Five Thousand and No /100
($5,000.00) Dollars or less, provided that the original con-

tract price may not be increased by more than ten (10 %)
percent or decreased by more than twenty -five (250) percent
without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
