Ordinance No. 3,179ORDINNCE NO. 3179 f AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT VAR- IOUS INTERSECTIONS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be stop intersections, to -wit: Birdsong at Garth Road N. Third Street at East Lobit Avenue Section 2: The Director of Planning and Traffic is authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described locations. Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed, provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 4: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 5: Any offense under this chapter for which another penalty is not provided is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than One ($1.00) Dollar nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, except that minors who have 10611 -10 10611 -10a passed their fourteenth birthday shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereby by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after its passage.
