ORDINANCE NO. 3170
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF TIERRA DEL ORO, SECTIONS 2 AND 3 SUBDIVI-
SIONS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS
THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of
the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons
were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed
annexation of the following described property, to -wit:
BEING a 38.1645 acre tract of land out of the christian
Smith Survey Abstract No. 69, Harris County, Texas and being
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Tierra del Oro,
Section One as per plat recorded in Volume 298, Page 77
of the Harris County Flap Records and being the Southeast
corner of Lot 11, Block 5, Cedar Bayou Estates, said
corner being on the existing city limit line of the City
of Baytown;
THENCE South 09 degrees

29 minutes 06 seconds East along
line, said line being the West
Section One, and being the north -

THENCE South 09 degrees 13 minutes 36 seconds East along
the existing city limit line, said line being the West
line of Whispering Pines, Section Four, a distance of
810.00 feet to the Southwest corner of said Whispering
Pines, Section Four, also being in the North line of
Whispering Pines, Section One, as per plat recorded in
Volume 194, Page 63 of the Harris County Map Records;
THENCE South 80 degrees 14 minutes 08 seconds West along
the existing city limit line, said line being the North
line of said Whispering Pines, Section One, a distance of
1,198.83 feet to the Northwest corner of said Whispering
Pines, Section One, also being situated in the East right -
of -way line of Raccoon Road;
THENCE North 09 degrees 24 minutes 06 seconds West with the
East right -of -way line of Raccoon Road a distance of
1,387.67 feet to the Northwest corner of this tract, also
being the Southwest corner of Lot 11, Block 5 of Cedar
Bayou Estates;
THENCE North 80 degrees 29 minutes 54 seconds East with
the South line of said Lot 11, Block 5, Cedar Bayou Estates
a distance of 1,200.45 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
enclosing a tract of land containing 38.1645 acres of land
more or less. ( TIERRA DEL ORO, SECTIONS 2 AND 3)
was held at 7:00 p.m. in

WHEREAS, notice of

Baytown, Texas, on the 28 th day of

a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,
Texas, and in the above described territory on the 15th day
of May, 1981, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor
less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public
hearing; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas on the 1st day of January 1981, was 28.79 square
miles; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas
is approximately 56,650 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described land and
territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown,
Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown,
Texas, and shall hereinafter be included within the boundary
limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and present boundary
limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the
area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to
include said area within the corporate limits of the City of
Baytown, Texas,to -wit:

THENCE South 09 degrees 13 minutes 36 seconds East
along the existing city limit line, said line being be
West line of Whispering Pines, Section Four, a distance
of 810.00 feet to the Southwest corner of said Whispering
Pines, Section Four, also being in the North line of
Whispering Pines, Section One, as per plat recorded in
Volume 194, Page 63 of the Harris County Map Records;
THENCE South 80 degrees 14 minutes 08 seconds West
along the existing city limit line, said line being the
North line of said Whispering Pines, Section One, a
distance of 1,198.83 feet to the Northwest corner of
said Whispering Pines, Section One, also being situated
in the East right -of -way line of Raccoon Road;
THENCE North 09 degrees 24 minutes 06 seconds West with
the East right -of -way line of Raccoon Road a distance
of 1,387.67 feet to the Northwest corner of this tract,
also being the Southwest corner of Lot 11, Block 5 of
Cedar Bayou Estates;
THENCE North 80 degrees 29 minutes 54 seconds East with
the South line of said Lot 11, Block 5, Cedar Bayou Es-
tates a distance of 1,200.45 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING, enclosing a tract of land containing 38.1645
acres of land, more or less.
Section 2: The above described territory and the area
so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas,
and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata
part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and
the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the
rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound
by the acts, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the
City of Baytown, Texas.

Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and
passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
