Ordinance No. 3,14510514 -5 ORDINANCE NO. 3145 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF 4.3 ACRES WEST OF SAN JACINTO MALL, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described property, to -wit: ALL that certain tract of land containing approximately 4 . 3 acres of land in Harris County, Texas being a part of the James Williams Survey, Abstract No. 1472 and in the W.C.R.R. Co. Survey No. 1, Abstract No. 889; said tract being more fully described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north R.O.W. of In- terstate Highway No. 10 (I -10), said point being the northwest corner of the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE South 79 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds West along the North R.O.W. of I -10 a distance of 344.5 feet to a point for a corner; THENCE South 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds East a distance of 300 feet to the South R.O.W. line of I- 10; THENCE South 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds East a distance of 248 feet to a point for a corner; THENCE North 79 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 344.5 feet along the South B.L. of the Lone Star Bank tract to a point for a corner, said point being the West B.L. of the San Jacinto Mall tract and being in the West B.L. of the existing city limit line of Baytown; THENCE North 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds West along the West B.L. of said city limit line of Baytown a distance of 548 feet to a point in the North R.O.W. line of I -10 to the place of beginning. was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 23rd day of April, 1981, which date is not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and 10514 -5a WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 10th day of April, 1980, which date is not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas on the lst day of January 1981, was 28.79 square miles; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is approximately 56,650 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the following described land and terri- tory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Bayotwn, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: ALL that certain tract of land containing approximately 4.3 acres of land in Harris County, Texas being a part of the James Williams Survey, Abstract No. 1472 and in the W.C.R.R. Co. Survey No. 1, Abstract No. 889; said tract being more fully described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north R.O.W. of In- terstate Highway No. 10 (1 -10), said point being the northwest corner of the existing city limit line of the City of Baytown; -2- 10514 -5b THENCE South 79 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds West along the North R.O.W, of I -10 a distance of 344.5 feet to a point for a corner; THENCE South 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds East a distance of 300 feet to the South R.O.W. line of I- 10; THENCE South 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds East a distance of 248 feet to a point for a corner; THENCE North 79 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 344.5 feet along the South B.L. of the Lone Star Bank tract to a point for a corner, said point being the West B.L. of the San Jacinto Mall tract and being in the West B.L. of the existing city limit line of Baytown; THENCE North 10 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds West along the West B.L. of said city limit line of Baytown a distance of 548 feet to a point in the North R.O.W. line of I -10 to the place of beginning. Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
