ORDINANCE NO. 3144
AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A
PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF RAVEN
WAY SUBDIVISION; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: On the 28th day of May 1981, at
7:00p.m, in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of
the City of Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a
public hearing giving all interested parties the right to
appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City
of Baytown, Texas, of the following described property, to-
wit:
(SEE ATTACHED EXHIBIT "A ")
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is
hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such
public hearing to be published once in the newspaper having
general circulation in the City and in the above described
territory not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten
(10) days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in
accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160,
Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; com-
piled as 970a Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended).
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this the 14th
day of May 1981.

FIELD NOTES FOR ANNEXATION OF PROPOSED
RAVEN WAY SUBDIVISION AND ADJACENT LAND
BEING a 35.63 acre tract of .land out of the Christian Smith Survey A -69, the
J. W. Singleton Survey A -709, and the D. M. McFadden Survey A -591, Harris
County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the Southeast corner of
Chaparral Village, Section One with the North line of the existing corpo-
rate limits of the City of Baytown, said point being North 27 degrees
27 minutes 23 seconds East a distance of 247.42 feet from the North right -
of -way line of Massey - Tompkins Road;
THENCE North 27 degrees 27 minutes 23 seconds East, continuing along the
westerly line of Harris County Flood Control 40 foot easement a distance
of 485.84 feet to a point at the most easterly corner of Chaparral Village,
Section One;
THENCE North 11 degrees 7 minutes 36 seconds West a distance of 899.70
feet to the point of intersection of the Southwest corner of Chaparral
Village, Section Two with the easterly boundary line of Chaparral Village,
Section One;
THENCE, South 87 degrees 27 minutes 40 seconds East a distance of 663.75
feet to the point of intersection of the Southeast corner of Chaparral
Village, Section Two with the easterly line of the Harris County Flood
Control 40 foot eastment;
THENCE North 27 degrees 27 minutes 23 seconds East along the easterly
line of the Harris County Flood Control 40 foot easement a distance of
743.54 feet to a point at the most easterly corner of Chaparral Village,
Section Two;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction a distance of approximately 100 feet
to the southeasterly right -of -way line of Southern Pacific Railroad, said
point being the northern most Northwest corner of the proposed Raven Way
Subdivision;
THENCE North 79 degrees 47 minutes 01 second East with the North line of
said Subdivision a distance of 59.85 feet to the Northeast corner of said
Subdivision;
THENCE South 10 degrees 50 minutes 03 seconds East with the most easterly
line of said Subdivision a distance of 736.08 feet to a Southeast corner
of said Subdivision;
THENCE South 80 degrees 30 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 135.70
feet to a corner of said Subdivision;

said Subdivision a distance of 682.74 feet to a point on the existing
corporate limits of the City of Baytown;
THENCE South 79 degrees 08 minutes 38 seconds West with the existing cor-
porate limits of the City of Baytown a distance of 226.29 feet to a point
for a corner;
THENCE South 07 degrees 03 minutes 18 seconds East with the existing cor-
porate limits of the City of Baytown a distance of 264.42 feet to a point
for a corner;
THENCE South 80 degrees 39 minutes 53 seconds West with the existing cor-
porate limits of the City of Baytown a distance of 1,156.02 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING enclosing a tract of land containing 35.63 acres, more
or less.
