A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
NAMING THE WARD ROAD PARK IN MEMORY OF MISSY DAVIDSON; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, Missy Davidson, a native Baytownian, dedicated over twenty (20) years of service
to the City of Baytown as the Human Resources Civil Service Director and over forty (40) years of
municipal service to the State of Texas through organizations such as the Texas Municipal League and
the Texas Municipal Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, Missy Davidson was a positive influence on our community in the way she
promoted and supported the City of Baytown for so many years as an employee and a driving force for
making the City of Baytown a better place to work and live; and
WHEREAS, the City purchased a 14.65 acre tract in 2004 for youth league practice fields,
which parkland has been called Ward Road Park (the "Park") but has never been formally named; and
WHEREAS, all games of the Baytown East Little League were moved to the Park in 1986,
which Park currently has several softball/baseball practice backstops, parking, and a newly constructed
loop trail; and
WHEREAS, Missy Davidson spent a considerable amount of time coaching, managing and
volunteering at the former East Little League Park; and
WHEREAS, naming the Park in memory of Missy Davidson would be an appropriate gesture to
honor her lifelong contribution to the City and its citizens; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby names the Ward Road
Park as the Missy Davidson Memorial Park in memory of Missy Davidson's dedication and years of service
to the City and its citizens.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
