ORDINANCE NO. 3137
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT
VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS OF GARTH ROAD: REPEALING CONFLICT-
ING ORDINANCES; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO
HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described
intersection to be a stop intersection, to -wit:
Lynchburg -Cedar Bayou at Garth
South Road at Garth
North Road at Garth
Archer Road at Garth
Hunt Road at Garth
Sharon Road at Garth
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described
intersection will no longer be a stop intersection, to -wit:
Garth at Lynchburg -Cedar Bayou
Section 3: The Director of Planning and Traffic is
authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be
posted at the above described locations.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in-
consistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to
the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects
this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances re-
gulating and governing the subject matter covered by this
ordinance.

Section 5: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a
vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinances, unless at
the time otherwise directed by a police officer.
Section 6: Any offense under this chapter for which
another penalty is not provided is a misdemeanor punishable
by a fine of not less than One ($1.00) Dollar nor more than
Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, except that minors who have
passed their fourteenth (14) birthday but have not reached
their seventeenth birthday shall be punished by a fine of
not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and each vio-
lation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 7: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereby by
causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the
official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice
whthin ten (10) days after its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 23rd day of
