AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ADDING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 6;
REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 17(1) of the Charter of the City of
Baytown provides that the City Council shall redistrict the
City if the growth of the City justifies; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to include the newly annexed
territory described herein in a Council District; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: Council District No. 6 is hereby redis-
tricted by the addition of certain property which is des-
cribed as follows:
BEING 5.574 acres of land out of the Harvey Whiting
Survey, A -840, Harris County, Texas, and being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point situated at the intersection of
the West right -of -way line of Bush Road (based on 60
foot width) and the north right -of -way line of Baker
Road (based on 100 foot width), and being the Southeast
corner of this tract;
THENCE in a Northwesterly direction with the North line
of Baker Road, and the South line of this tract, a
curve to the right having a radius of 1859.86 feet, a
curvilinear distance of 465.08 feet to the point of
tangency of said curve;
THENCE North 620 23' 23" West continuing with the North
line of Baker Road, and the South line of this tract, a
distance of 108.45 feet to the beginning of a curve to
the left;
THENCE in a Northwesterly direction continuing with the
North line of Baker Road, and the South line of this
tract, a curve to the left having a radius of 1959.86
feet a curvilinear distance of 709.67 feet to a point
situated in the North line of Baker Road and the South
line of the Quail Hollow Apartments, Phase I;
THENCE North 880 481 00" East with the South line of
Quail Hollow Apartments, Phase I, and the North line of
this tract, a distance of 791.40 feet to a point, said
point being the Southeast corner of the Quail Hollow
Apartments, Phase I;

THENCE North 890 16' 23" East with the North line of
this tract, a distance of 401.58 feet to a point situa-
ted in the West line of Bush Road for the Northeast
corner of this tract;
THENCE, South 010 31' 50" East with the West line of
Bush Road, and the East line of this tract, a distance
of 443.98 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and enclosing
5.574 acres of land. (CEDAR RIDGE)
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby
repealed; provided however, that such repeal shall be only
to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects
this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances
regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this
ordinance.
Section 3: If any provision, section, exception,
subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of
circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity
of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their
application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to
this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after is passage and the City Clerk is hereby directed to
publish the caption of this ordinance at least once in the
official newspaper of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council on this the 23rd flay of
1981.
