ORDINANCE NO. 2592
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ADDING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 5;
REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 17(1) of the Charter of the City of
Baytown provides that the City Council shall redistrict the
City if the growth of the City justifies; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to include the newly annexed
territory described herein in a Council District; NOW THERE-
FORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: Council District No. 5 is hereby redis-
tricted by the addition of certain property which is
described as follows:
A 5.604 -acre tract of land out of that certain 7.5 -acre
tract situated in the J. W. Singleton Survey conveyed to W.
T. Walker et ux by Deed of Trust recorded October 7, 1931,
in Volume 556 at Page 371 of the Mortgage Records of Harris
County, Texas, to which reference is herein made, said tract
of land more particularly described as follows:
COMMENCING at the Southeast corner of aforesaid 7.5-
acre tract of land, said commencing point situated at
the point of intersection of the West right -of -way line
of Chaparral Drive (formerly called Barkaloo Road No.
2) and the North line of Massey Tompkins Road;
THENCE, North 11 deg. 05 min. 28 sec. West 200.0 feet
along the West line of Chaparral Drive (formerly called
Barkaloo Road No. 2) to a 1/2" galvanized pipe set for
the Southeast corner and "Point of Beginning" of tract
described;
THENCE, North 11 deg. 05 min. 28 sec. West 592.0 feet
along the West line of Chaparral Drive (formerly called
Barkaloo Road No. 2) to a 1" galvanized pipe recovered
at the Northeast corner aforesaid 7.5 -acre tract, said
1" galvanized pipe being the Northeast corner of tract
described;
THENCE, South 80 deg. 32 min. 02 sec. West along the
North boundary aforesaid 7.5 -acre tract, same line
being the North boundary of tract described, said line
parallel to the North boundary of Massey Tompkins Road,
a distance of 412.5 feet to a 1/2" steel rod set at the
Northwest corner aforesaid 7.5 -acre tract, said 1/2"
steel rod being the Northwest corner of tract described;

THENCE, South 11 deg. 05 min. 28 sec. East along a line
parallel to the West boundary of Chaparral Drive (for-
merly called Barkaloo Road No. 2), said line being the
West boundary of aforesaid 7.92 -acre tract and the West
boundary of tract described a distance of 592.0 feet to
a 1/2" steel rod set for the Southwest corner of tract
described; said corner described as being North 11 deg.
05 min. 28 sec. West 200.0 feet from the Southwest
corner aforesaid 7.5 -acre tract;
THENCE, North 80 deg. 23 min. 02 sec. East 412.5 feet
along a line parallel to the North boundary aforesaid
7.5 -acre tract, said line being the South boundary of
tract described to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing
within these metes and bounds 5.604 acres of land more

Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby
repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only
to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects
this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances
regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this
ordinance.
Section 3: If any provision, section, exception, sub-
section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of
circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the valid-
ity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their
application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to
this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage and the City Clerk is hereby directed to
publish the caption of this ordinance at least once in the
official newspaper of the City of Baytown.
