Ordinance No. 2,781P ��szo ��� -� • 1 8 �cl 79 91213 -6 ® ORDINANCE NO. 2781 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS DURING CONSTRUCTION ON SOUTH HIGHWAY 146, FROM THE SOUTHWEST CITY LIMITS TO LOOP 201; LOOP 201, FROM SOUTH HIGHWAY 146 TO ARIZONA STREET; AND SPUR 330, FROM THE NORTHWEST CITY LIMITS TO AIRHART DRIVE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation has made it known to the City of Baytown that operations will begin in the near future for construction of structures, grading, and storm sewers along portions of Loop 0 201, South Highway 146, and Spur 330; and WHEREAS, in the interest of safety, it is desirable to maintain construction speed zones during the construction period; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That construction speed zones of 35 miles per hour be established along South Highway 146, from the southwest city limits to Loop 201; along Loop 201, from South Highway 146 to Arizona Street; and along Spur 330, from the northwest city limits to Airhart Drive, to be effective when so signed within said zones. Section 2: That necessary signs for posting the speed zones will be furnished, installed, and maintained by the direction of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation engineer in charge of the projects. Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred and No /100 ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by 91213 -6a causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
