Ordinance No. 2,7771213 -2 ORDINANCE NO. 2777 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, RAISING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR MOTOR VEHICLES ON A PORTION OF McKINNEY ROAD, FROM SOUTH HIGHWAY 146 TO CEDAR BAYOU ROAD AND ON A PORTION OF SOUTH HIGHWAY 146, FROM WARD ROAD TO HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DITCH NO. 0- 102- 00 -00; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the prima facie maximum speed limit with respect to McKinney Road, from South Highway 146 to Cedar Bayou Road, is altered to 40 miles per hour; and City J Council hereby determines and declares this prima facie speed limit to be reasonable and prudent. Section 2: That the prima facie maximum speed limit with respect to South Highway 146, from Ward Road to Harris County Flood Control Ditch No. 0- 102- 00 -00, is altered to 40 miles per hour; and City Council hereby determines and declares this prima facie speed limit to be reasonable and prudent. Section 3: The Director of Planning is hereby authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the ® above described locations. Section 4: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred and No /100 ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice ® within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance. 91213 -2a 41 INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 13th day of December , 1979.
