AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
AMENDING THE "CITY OF BAYTOWN PERSONNEL RULES" RELATING
TO INJURY ON THE JOB AND RECEIPT OF SUPPLEMENTAL RECEIPTS;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the "City of Baytown Personnel Rules"
are hereby amended by the repeal of Chapter 8, Section 10,
Injury on the job, as presently constituted and substituting
® in its place a new Section 10 which shall read as follows:
Chapter 8
Section 10-- Injury on the job.
An employee injured in the line of duty shall receive
worker's compensation and injury leave benefits under terms
and conditions prescribed in the applicable programs.
Worker's compensation benefits may be supplemented by the
City, under the provision specified below to ensure that a
disabled employee receives full salary for six months,
provided employees covered by 1269m may receive supplemental
benefits up to one year.
(a) Employees who become ill or injured on the job must
report these medical problems within a reasonable time to
their immediate supervisor if their physical condition
allows them to do so.
® (b) Employees must submit complete and accurate information
regarding job injuries, illnesses, disabilities, causes of
such, medical care and treatment.
(c) The recommendations regarding care and treatment of
the disability /injury and /or illness by the medical service
supplied by the City of Baytown or selected by the individual
are followed. If the medical service is a service selected
by the employee, the employee must provide for communication
of the disability, injury, illness, medical care and treatment
between his or her selected service and the City's physician
if requested to do so.
(d) The amount of communication recommended that is
established at the outset of the absence relating to on the
job illness or injury must be maintained by the employee
with the company during the period of disability.
(e) The employee must make him or herself available for
in- organizational or home consultation with the City of
Baytown during the period of disability if requested to do
