ORDINANCE NO. 2662
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MECHANICAL CODE TO ALLOW
RENEWAL OF ELAPSED LICENSES WITHOUT EXAMINATION; AND
MAKING VARIOUS PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That Chapter 161, "Mechanical Code," of the
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the repeal of Section
161 -15, Renewal, as presently constituted, and by the addition
of a new Section 161 -15, Renewal, that shall read as follows:
Sec. 161 -15. Renewal.
All licenses and certifications issued by the board under
the provisions of this chapter shall expire on December
31st following the date of issuance or renewal.
Air conditioning contractors may renew an expired license
upon payment of back fees and a $25.00 penalty. Journeymen
may renew an expired license upon payment of back fees and a
$12.50 penalty. No license that shall have elapsed for as
much as two (2) years, however, shall be renewed except upon
re- examination, the payment of the initial fee, and upon the
same terms and conditions as provided in the case of original
examination.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby
repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only
to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects
this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances
regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this
ordinance.
Section 3: If any provision, section, exception, sub-
section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of
circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the valid-
ity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their
111� application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to
this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage.
