AN ORDINANCE AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR RECONDITIONING
OF THE EAST JAMES STREET WATER TOWER TO WATER TANK
SERVICE COMPANY FOR THE SUM OF NINETEEN THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED NINETY -EIGHT AND N01100 ($19,898.00) DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did
authorize advertising for bids for the East James Street
water tower to be received August 17, 1978; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract would be let was published
pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the
City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 1978, as per published
notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of Water Tank Service Company, according
to the plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer
on a construction timetable of 45 working days for the sum
of Nineteen Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety -Eight and No /100
($19,898.00) Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the
City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and
attest to a contract with Water Tank Service Company for the
reconditioning of the East James Street water tower, con-
taining the plans, specifications, and requirements of the
City Engineer and appropriate bond and drawn provisions in
accordance with the provisions of TEX.REV.CIV.STAT. art.
2368a or providing that no money will be paid to said con-
tractor until completion and acceptance of the work by the
City.

Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council on this 24th day of August , 1978.
