ORDINANCE NO. 2491
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN AWARDING THE CONTRACT
FOR RECONDITIONING OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DRILL TOWER
TO J & M ENTERPRISES FOR FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED
FIFTEEN AND 59/100 ($5,315.59) DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown
did authorize advertising for bids for the Fire Department
drill tower to be received June 13, 1978; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract would be let was published
pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the
City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 1978, as per published
notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of J & M Enterprises, according to
the plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer
on a construction timetable of 45 working days for the sum
of Five Thousand Three Hundred Fifteen and 59/100 ($5,315.59)
Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby
authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract
with J & M Enterprises for the reconditioning of the Fire
Department drill tower, containing the plans, specifications,
and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond
and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions of
TEX.REV.CIV.STAT. art. 2368a or providing that no money
will be paid to said contractor until completion and accep-
tance of the work by the City.

Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.

the City Council on this 22nd day of June
1978.
