AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ACCEPTING THE BID OF WESCOTT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAYTOWN SPORTS COMPLEX NEIGH-
BORHOOD CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBT-
EDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -
EIGHT THOUSAND THIRTY -TWO AND N01100 ($138,032.00)
DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did
authorize Busch - Hutchison & Associates, Inc., Consulting
Engineers to the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids for
the construction of the Baytown Sports Complex Neighborhood
Center to be received May 16, 1978; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract for said construction would be
let was published pursuant to provisions of Texas Revised
Civil Statutes, Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 10:00 o'clock a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 1978, as per
published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby accepts the bid of Wescott Construction Company for
the construction of the Baytown Sports Complex Neighborhood
Center according to the plans and specifications set forth
by the Consulting Engineers on a construction timetable of
150 calendar days for the sum of One Hundred Thirty -Eight
Thousand Thirty -Two and No /100 ($138,032.00) Dollars, and
the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized
and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Wescott
Construction Company for the construction of said development,
containing the plans, specifications, and requirements of

the Consulting Engineers and appropriate bond and drawn
provisions in accordance with the provisions of Texas Revised
Civil Statutes, Article 5160.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council on the 25th day of May, 1978.
