Ordinance No. 2,40180126 -6 ORDINANCE NO. 2401 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, provides that local authorities in their respective jurisdiction may place and maintain any traffic control device upon any highway under their jurisdiction as they may deem necessary, taking into consideration the usual traffic flow of the streets or highways within their jurisdiction. Said governing body may determine that various local traffic control devices are necessary, and shall direct said appropriate devices be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the street or highway; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: On the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Article 7601d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the following stop signs are to be erected on the following named streets, highways or parts thereof described as follows: Little Road (Northbound) at Decker Drive; Arizona Street at LOOP 201; Kentucky Street at LOOP 201; Strickland Street (Northbound) at Ward Road. Id 80126 -6a Section 2: The Director of Planning is hereby authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described locations. Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
