Ordinance No. 2,40080126 -5 ORDINANCE NO. 2400 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF YIELD SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLA- TION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be yield intersections, to wit: Baker Road at Chaparral Drive; Inwood Drive at Columbia Street; Kelly Lane at Columbia Street; Autumn Lane at Summer Lane; and South Fifth Street at East Pearce Avenue. Section 2: The Director of Planning and Traffic is authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described locations. Section 3: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 4: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by la 80126 -Sa causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
