ORDINANCE NO. 2380
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS;
ACCEPTING THE BID OF FRIDEN MAILING DIVISION FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE POSTAGE METER MAILING MACHINE AND
AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF THE SUM OF ONE
THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY -TWO AND 35/100 ($1,762.35)
DOLLARS.
WHEREAS, the City's postage meter mailing machine is in
a present state of disrepair; and
WHEREAS, the replacement of the City's postage meter
mailing machine is necessary for the preservation and protection
of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the
City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, considering the above, the City Council of the
City of Baytown deems that an emergency situation exists;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, did authorize the Purchasing Department for the City
of Baytown to advertise for bids for the purchase of one
postage meter mailing machine to be received December 7,
1977; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract would be let was published
pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the
City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 1977, as per
published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas hereby declares that an emergency situation exists.

Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Friden Mailing Division for
the purchase of one postage meter mailing machine for the
sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty -Two and 35/100
($1,762.35) Dollars on a delivery date of 90 days and authorizes
payment of the sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty -Two
and 35/100 ($1,762.35) Dollars.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City
of Baytown, Texas.
