ORDINANCE NO. 2250
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF CHANNEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,
INC., FOR THE SLIPLINING OF PORTIONS OF CERTAIN SANITARY
SEWER LINES AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS
BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY -TWO THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED THIRTEEN AND 75/100 ($152,513.75) DOLLARS
WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, did authorize the administration to advertise for
bids for the sliplining of portions of certain sanitary
sewer lines to be received May 31, 1977; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract for said construction would be
let was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil
Statutes, Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 1977, as per published
notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Channel Construction Company,
Inc., for the sliplining of portions of certain sanitary
sewer lines described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
made a part hereof for all intents and purposes, according
to the plans and specifications set forth by the administration
on a construction timetable of 110 working days for the sum
of One Hundred Fifty -Two Thousand Five Hundred Thirteen and
75/100 ($152,513.75) Dollars.

Section 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to
a contract with Channel Construction Company, Inc. for the
sliplining of said sanitary sewer lines, containing the
plans, specifications, and requirements of the administration
and appropriate bond and drawn provisions in accordance with
the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 5160.
Section 3: That, pursuant to the provisions of Article
2368a, Section 2a, Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes, the
City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve
any change order involving a decrease or an increase in
costs of Five Thousand and No /100 ($5,000.00) Dollars or
less, subject to the proviso that the original contract
price may not be increased by more than twenty -five (25%)
percent or decreased by more than twenty -five (2576) percent
without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council on this 9th day of June 1977.

7. 6" line between Fortune and Pleasant and crossing Pleasant and then from
manhole west to Beaumont.

8. 6" line between Patsy and Fortune from Terrace to just west of SH 146.
