Ordinance No. 2,2170�� ,_ • / �o �j2�,K 3f 11?7 7496 m� -61 H7 I ORDINANCE NO. 2217 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS AND THE PQ CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS; PROVIDING VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, OF STOP SIGNS AT STING OF YIELD SIGNS AT FOR A PENALTY FOR THE FOR THE PUBLICATION WHEREAS, Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, provides that local authorities in their respective jurisdiction may place and maintain any traffic control device upon any highway under their jurisdiction as they may deem necessary, taking into consideration the usual traffic flow of the streets or highways within their jurisdiction. Said governing body may determine that various local traffic control devices are necessary, and shall direct said appropriate devices be erected, by the passage of an ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the street or highway; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: On the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the following stop signs are to be erected on the following named streets, highways or parts thereof described as follows: Littlewood /Newmeadow at Newcastle Section 2: On the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions 7497 of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the following yield signs are to be erected on the following named streets, highways or parts thereof described as follows: MacArthur at Katherine Katherine /Queen's Court at Brownwood Section 3: The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to cause yield signs to be erected at the above intersections. Section 4: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after its passage.
