ORDINANCE NO. 2183
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY, WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of
the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons
were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed
annexation of the following described property, to -wit:
BEING a tract or parcel of land out of the J. W. Singleton
Survey, A -709, and the David McFadden Survey, A -591, Harris
County, Texas, and being a portion of that certain 53.485
acre tract conveyed to Walker Development Corporation,
and being a portion of that 36.998 acre tract conveyed to
Walker Development Corporation, and being all of that certain
1.403 acre tract conveyed to Walker Development Corporation,
and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Chaparral Village
Section 3, as evidenced by plat recorded in Volume 226
at page 39 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas,
said point also being in the city limits line of the
City of Baytown;
THENCE North 110 27' 28" West a distance of 50.00 feet
to an angle point in the city limits line of the City
of Baytown;
THENCE North 780 32' 32" East with the South line of
this tract and the city limits line of the City of
Baytown a distance of 842.01 feet to an angle point;
THENCE North 110 30' 35" West with the city limits line
of the City of Baytown a distance of 50.00 feet to a
point;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction continuing with the
city limits line of the City of Baytown, being a curve
to the right having a radius of 1938.00 feet and a
curvilinear distance of 710.48 feet to a point;
THENCE South 800 27' 10" East continuing with the city
limits line of the City of Baytown a distance of 259.36
feet to the beginning of a curve;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction continuing with
the city limits line of the City of Baytown, being a
curve to the left having a radius of 1.838.00 feet a
distance of 186.93 feet to a point, said point being
the Northeast corner of Chaparral Village Section 2;

THENCE South 100 46' 05" East continuing with the city
limits line of the City of Baytown and the East line of
Chaparral Village Section 2, a distance of 276.00 feet
to a point situated in the West Right -of -way line of
the Dayton Goose Creek Railroad;
THENCE North 270 21' 10" East with the Northwest Right -
of -way line of the Dayton Goose Creek Railroad and the
Southeast line of this tract a distance of 492.05 feet
to a point, said point being the Northeast corner of
the aforementioned 1.403 acre tract;
THENCE South 820 01' 29" West with a North line of this
tract and a North line of the aforementioned 1.403 acre
tract passing at 304.33 feet the Northwest corner of
the aforementioned 1.403 acre tract in all a distance
of 344.33 feet to an intra corner of the aforementioned
36.998 acre tract;
THENCE North 100 46' 13" West with the East line of the
aforementioned 36.998 acre tract a distance of 749.16
feet to a point, being the Northeast corner of the
aforementioned 36.998 acre tract;
THENCE South 780 29' 25" West with the North line of
the aforementioned 36.998 acre tract a distance of
1,085.48 feet to a point situated in the East line of
the aforementioned 53.485 acre tract, said point also
being the Northwest corner of the aforementioned 36.998
acre tract;
THENCE North 110 30' 35" West with the East line of the
aforementioned 53.485 acre tract a distance of 350.00
feet to a point, said point also being the Northeast
corner of the aforementioned 53.485 acre tract;
THENCE South 780 27' 58" West with the North line of
the aforementioned 53.485 acre tract passing at 785.36
feet the Northwest corner of the aforementioned 53.485
acre tract in all a distance of 845.36 feet to a point
situated in the West Right -of -way line of Barkuloo Road
No. 2;
THENCE South 110 48' 22" East with the West Right -of-
way line of Barkuloo Road No. 2 a distance of 792.45
feet to a point;
THENCE South 110 27' 28" East with the West Right -of-
way line of Barkuloo Road No. 2 a distance of 252.52
feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, enclosing 38.05 acres
more or less. (Chaparral Village, Section IV)
and,
BEING a tract or parcel of land out of the J. W. Singleton
Survey, A -709, Harris County, Texas, and being a portion of
that certain 36.220 acre tract conveyed to Walker Development
Corporation, and being more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows:

BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Chaparral Village
Section 3 as evidenced by plat recorded in Volume 226
at page 39 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas,
said point also being situated in the city limits of
the City of Baytown;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction with a curve to the
right having a radius of 2241.83 feet and a curvilinear
distance of 170.38 feet to the Point of Tangency;
THENCE North 780 32' 32" East with the North line of
Chaparral Village Section 3 and the city limits line of
the City of Baytown a distance of 520.00 feet to a
point;
THENCE North 110 27' 28" West with the East line of
this tract passing at 50.00 feet a corner in the city
limits line of the City of Baytown, continuing in all a
distance of 252.52 feet to a point situated in the
North line of the above mentioned 36.220 acre tract;
' THENCE South 780 41' 32" West with the North line of
this tract, also being the North line of the afore-
mentioned 36.220 acre tract a distance of 1375.98 feet
to a point situated in the East Right -of -way line of
Barkuloo Road;
THENCE South 110 22' 04" East with the West line of
this tract and the East Right -of -way line of Barkuloo
Road a distance of 494.83 feet to a point, said point
being the most Westerly South corner of the afore-
mentioned 36.220 acre tract;
THENCE North 790 57' 59" East with the South line of
this tract and a South line of the aforementioned
36.220 acre tract a distance of 686.63 feet to a point
situated in the West line of Chaparral Village Section
3, said line also being the city limits line of the
City of Baytown;
THENCE North 110 34' 29" East with the West line of
Chaparral Village Section 3 and the city limits line of
the City of Baytown a distance of 249.25 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING, enclosing 11.94 acres more or less.

was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of
the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 24th day
of February, 1977, which date is not more than twenty (20)
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of
annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in
a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,

Texas, and in the above described territory on the 11th day
of February , 1977, which date is not more than twenty
(20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such
public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas on the 1st day of January, 1977, was 17,449 acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas,
is approximately 50,423 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas;

WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described land and
territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown,
Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown,
Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall
hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City
of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such
City, at the various points contiguous to the area herein-
after described, are altered and amended so as to include
said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown,
Texas, to -wit:
BEING a tract or parcel of land out of the J. W. Singleton
Survey, A -709, and the David McFadden Survey, A -591, Harris
County, Texas, and being a portion of that certain 53.485

and being a portion of that 36.998 acre tract conveyed to

Section 2: The above described territory and the area
so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas,
and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata
part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and
the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the
rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound
by the acts, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the
City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and
passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
