Ordinance No. 2,169P,4� 7298 ORDINANCE NO. 2169 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF YIELD SIGNS AND STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS AND THE REMOVAL OF A STOP SIGN AT A CERTAIN INTERSECTION; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be yield intersections, to -wit: Bruce Drive at Narcille Street Buchanan Drive at Narcille Street Sheridan Drive at Narcille Street Olive Street at Narcille Street Colby Drive at Narcille Street Adams Street at Narcille Street East Fayle Avenue at Narcille Street Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be stop intersections, to -wit: South Sixth Street at East Gulf Avenue South Seventh Street at East Gulf Avenue Section 3: The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described locations. Section 4: And further, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersection will no longer be a stop intersection, to -wit: East Gulf Avenue at South Seventh Street 7299 Section 5: The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the removal of the stop sign at the above described location. Section 6: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs posted in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 7: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 8: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
