ORDINANCE NO. 2154
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF NORVILLE H. PHILLIPS FOR
THE PAINTING OF THE ROSELAND PARK PAVILION AND AUTHORIZING
THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM
OF TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY -TWO AND 20/100
($2,222.20) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, did authorize the administration of the City of
Baytown, to advertise for bids for the painting of the
Roseland Park pavilion to be received January 4, 1977; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract for said painting would be let
was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil
Statutes, Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 1977, as per published
notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Norville H. Phillips according
to the plans and specifications set forth by the administration
of the City of Baytown on a timetable of 30 calendar days
for the sum of Two Thousand Two Hundred Twenty -Two and
20/100 ($2,222.20) Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of
the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and
attest to a contract with Norville H. Phillips for said
painting, containing the plans, specifications, and requirements
of the administration of the City of Baytown and appropriate
bond and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 5160 or providing that
no money will be paid to said contractor until completion
and acceptance of the work by the City.

Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
