Ordinance No. 2,1057102 ORDINANCE NO. 2105 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF YIELD SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS AND THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections will no longer be yield intersections, to -wit: North Second Street at East Defee Avenue North Third Street at East Defee Avenue North Sixth Street at East Defee Avenue New Jersey Street at Missouri Street Section 2: The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the removal of the yield signs at the above described locations. Section 3: And further, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does declare the following described intersections to be stop intersections, to -wit: N Park Street at Decker Drive East Homan Avenue at Houston Street North Second Street at East Defee Avenue North Third Street at East Defee Avenue North Sixth Street at East Defee Avenue New Jersey Street at Missouri Street 7103 Section 4: The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the proper sign to be posted at the above described locations. Section 5: It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs posted in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 6: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 7: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
