AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 7,
"BUILDINGS ", ARTICLE I, BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION
7 -5.1, MINIMUM PROPERTY STANDARDS FOR ONE AND TWO
LIVING UNITS -- AMENDMENTS, REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended by amending Chapter 7,
"Buildings ", Article I, by the addition of a new Section 7-
5.1, Minimum Property Standards for One and Two Living
Units -- Amendments, which shall read as follows, to -wit:
Sec. 7 -5.1. Minimum property standards for one and two
living units -- amendments.
Section 503 -2.1 of the Minimum Property Standards for One
and Two Living Units (FHA No. 300) is hereby amended so as
to repeal that section as presently constituted and to
substitute in its place a new Section 503 -2.1 which shall
read as follows:
Section 503 -2.1 -- Minimum distance from front or
rear building line to property line, at any point,
15 feet, except a garage or carport to rear property
line, or carport which is open on 3 sides (the side
nearest the front property line and the two adjacent

Section 3: Savings Clause: If any provision, section,
exception, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to any person
or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be held uncon-
stitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not
affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this
ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of
circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance
are declared to be severable.
Section 4: Effective Date: This ordinance shall take
effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the
City of Baytown.
