AN ORDINANCE FIXING THERATEAND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDINGSEPTEMBER
30,1977,UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE
STATE OF TEXAS ANDTHE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDI
NANCES OF SAID CITY;AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:There shall be and is hereby levied and
shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September
30,1977,an ad valorem tax of ONE AND 52/100 ($1.52)
DOLLARS for eachONE HUNDRED ($100.00)DOLLARS of assessed
value of property located within the city limits of the City
of Baytown on January 1,1976,made taxable by law,which
said taxes,when collected,shall be apportioned among funds
and departments of City Government of the City of Baytown
and for the purposes hereinafter set forth as follows:
General Fund Operations $1,104
Debt Service for payment
of bonded indebtedness $0.416

Section 2:The ad valorem tax rate of ONEAND 52/100
($1.52)DOLLARS as set forth in Section 1,is hereby levied
and shall be assessed and collected on only Fifty (50%)per
cent of eachONE HUNDRED ($100.00)DOLLARS worth of property
located within the city limits of the City of Baytown on
January 1,1976,as valued by the Equalization Board of the
City of Baytown and made taxable by law.

Section 3:TheTax Assessor and Collector of the City
of Baytown is hereby directed to assess,extend and enter
upon theTax Rolls of the City of Baytown,Texas,for the
current year the amounts and rates herein levied,and to
keep a current account of the same.All collection of such
taxes,as well as collection of taxes owned for prior years,
to include penalty and interest thereon,shall be deposited
in the official depository of the City of Baytown to be
distributed between the General Fund andthe Debt Service on
a basis determined by the percentage that each of the dollar
figures in Section 1 abovebear to the above stated tax
rate.
Section 4:All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a
majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown at its
regular meeting held at the CityHall in theCity of Baytown
on the9th day of September 1976.
