Ordinance No. 2,0556873 ORDINANCE NO.2055 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS ANDTHE POSTING OF A YIELD SIGN AT A CERTAIN INTERSECTION;PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OFTWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THECITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:That the City Council of theCity of Baytown, Texas,pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,does declare the following described intersections will no longer be stop intersections,to wit: William Avenue at Felton Street Civic Circle at Civic Drive Section 2:The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the removal of the stop signs at the above described locations. Section 3:And further,the CityCouncil of the City of Baytown,Texas,pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,does declare the following described intersection to be a yield intersection, to wit: Civic Drive at Civic Circle Section 4:The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the proper sign to be posted at the above described location. Section 5:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs posted in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. 6874 Section 6:Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 7:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is herebydirected to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)days after the passage of this ordinance.
