Ordinance No. 2,033ORDINANCE NO.2033 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,PROVIDING FOR YIELD RIGHT OF WAY SIGNS FOR ROLLINGBROOK DRIVE AT ROCKY KNOLL DRIVE;PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, provides that local authorities in their respective juris diction may place and maintain any traffic control device upon any highway under their jurisdiction as they may deem necessary,taking into consideration the usual traffic flow of the streets or highways within their jurisdiction.Said governing body maydetermine that various local traffic control devices are necessary,and shall direct said appro priate devices beerected,by the passage ofan ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the street or highway;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITYOF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:On the basis ofan engineering and traffic investigation heretofore made as authorized bythe provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,the following yield signs are tobe erected on the following named streets, highways or parts thereof described as follows: (a)For Rollingbrook Drive at Rocky Knoll Drive Section 2:The Chief of Police is herebyauthorized and directed to cause yield signs to be erected at the above intersection. 6822 Section 3:Any person violating the provision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 4:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)days after its passage.
