AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS,AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BYTHE AMENDMENT
OF CHAPTER 10,"ELECTIONS,"BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW
COUNCIL DISTRICT NO.6 IN ORDER THAT THE NEWLY ANNEXED
TERRITORY OF QUAIL HOLLOW,SECTION III MAY BE INCLUDED
IN THE PROPER COUNCIL DISTRICT;REPEALING ORDINANCES
INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION
AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS,Section 17(1)of the Charter of the City of
Baytown provides that the City Council shall redistrict the
City into Council Precincts if the growth of the City justifies;
and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to include the newly annexed
territory of Quail Hollow,Section III in a Council District;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That theCode of Ordinances of the City of
Baytown is hereby amended by the amendment of Chapter 10,
"Elections,"by the addition of a new Council District No.6
which shall read as follows,to wit:
District No.6
BEGINNING at point of intersection of center line of East
Texas Avenue with the center line of Main Street;
Thence,westerly with the center line of East Texas
Avenue to the intersection of said center line with the
center line of Decker Drive;
Thence,northwesterly with the center line of Decker
Drive to the north line of the William Scott Survey;
Thence,easterlywith the north line of the William
Scott Survey to the southern projection of the east
right-of-way line of Quail Hollow Drive;
Thence,northerly with a southern projection of the
east right-of-way line of Quail Hollow Drive and the
east right-of-way line of Quail Hollow Drive to the
north right-of-way line of Baker Road;
Thence,westerly with the north right-of-way line of
Baker Road to the center line of Goose Creek Stream;
Thence,northerly approximately 2,352 feet following
the meanders of the center of GooseCreek Stream to the
northwest corner of Quail Hollow Section II Subdivision;
Thence,easterlywith the north boundary of Quail
Hollow Section II Subdivision to the west right-of-way
line of Bush Road;
Thence,southerly with the west right-of-way line of
BushRoad to the southeast corner of the Quail Hollow
Apartments tract;
Thence,westerly with the south boundary of the Quail
Hollow Apartments tract tothe point of intersection
with the north right-of-way line of Baker Road;
Thence,easterly with the north right-of-way line of
Baker Road to the west line of the Goose Creek Inde
pendent School District property;said point being the
southwest corner of said school property;
Thence,northerly along the westside of theschool
property to a point on the southline of Lynchburg-
Cedar Bayou Road;
Thence,easterly along the south line of Lynchburg-
Cedar Bayou Road approximately 120 feet to a point of
intersection with the center line of a Harris County
Flood Control drainage easement;
Thence,northerly along the center line of the Flood
Control easement to a point of intersection with the
south line of South Road in the East End Addition;
Thence,easterly along the south line of South Road,
andthe extension of this line,to a point of inter
section with the west line of North Main Street;
Thence,southalong the west line of North Main Street
to a point of intersection with the projection of the
north line of Cedar Bayou-Lynchburg Road;
Thence,easterly along the north line of Cedar Bayou-
Lynchburg Road a distance of approximately 410 feet to
a point;
Thence,southerly,parallel to North Main Street,a
distance of approximately 1,690 feet to a point on the
north line of the M.E.Goodman five acre tract;
Thence,easterly along the north line of the M.E.
Goodman five acre tract a distance of approximately 716
feet to a point;
Thence,south alongthe eastline of the M.E.Goodman
five acre tract,and continuing,a total distance of
approximately 1,134 feet to a point;

Thence,westerly along the south property line of a
2.19 acre tract,Rayborn C.Johnson,Trustee,and an
extension of this line,a distance of approximately 870
feet to a point,said point being 200 feet from the
east line of North Main Street;
Thence,southerly with a line which is 200 feet east of
and parallel to North Main Street to its intersection
with a line which is 200 feet north of and parallel to
Massey Tompkins Road;
Thence,westerly with a line and the extension of a
line which is 200 feet north of and parallel to Massey
Tompkins Road to the center line of North Main Street;
Thence,southerly with the center line of North Main
Street to the point of beginning.
Section 2:Repealing Clause:All ordinances or parts
of ordinances inconsistentwith the terms of this ordinance
are hereby repealed;provided,however,that such repeal
shall be only to theextent of such inconsistency and in all
other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other
ordinances regulating and governing thesubject matter
coveredbythisordinance.
Section 3:Savings Clause:If any provisions,section,
exception,subsection,paragraph,sentence,clause or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to any person
or set of circumstances,shall for any reason be held uncon
stitutional,void or invalid,such invalidity shall not
affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this
ordinance of their application to other persons or sets of
circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordi
nance are declared tobe severable.
Section 4:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take
effect immediately from and after its passage and the City
Clerk is hereby directed to publish the caption of this
ordinance at least once in the official newspaper of the
City of Baytown.
