AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OFTHECITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,AND THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY,WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS.
WHEREAS,a public hearing before the City Council of
the City of Baytown,Texas,where all interested persons
were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed
annexation of the followingdescribed property,to wit:
BEING 10 acres of land out of that certain tract conveyed by
A.0.Susholtz,Trustee to W.T.Jones,Jr.,individually
and as Trustee,and said 10 acres being a portion of that
certain 189.05acre tract of land conveyed by deed dated
December 14,1945 from W.S.Craig to L.D.Wilburn and Theo
Wilburn,recorded in Volume 1368 at Page 104 of the Deed
Records of Harris County,Texas,and said tract of10 acres
described by metes and bounds;
BEGINNING at a point on the existing Corporate Limits of the
City of Baytown,Texas,said point situated on the South line
of the W.T.Jones 112.7 acre tract,said point being
the Southeast corner of said 112.7 acre tract,said South
east corner of 112.7acre tract being situated in the center-
line of a drainage ditchbased on50 foot in width;
THENCE South 89 deg.48 min.West along the South line
aforesaid 112.7 acre tract a distance of 442.50 feet to
corner,being the Southwest corner of the tract herein
described,said Southwest corner being located on the
existing CorporateLimits of the City of Baytown,Texas;
THENCE North 0 deg.59min.37 sec.East,saidcall being
parallel to the centerline aforesaid drainage ditch a
distance of 1043.6 feet to corner,being the Northwest
corner of the tract herein described;
THENCE over and across said 112.7 acre tract North 89deg.
48 min.East 442.50 feet to corner,being the Northeast
corner of the tract herein described and said corner situated
on the centerline of the 50 foot drainage ditch,said center-
line of drainage ditch being also the West line of a 76.28
acre tract heretofore conveyed by Wilburn Bros,to Goose
Creek Consolidated Independent School District,said corner
being a point located on the existing corporate boundary of
the City of Baytown,Texas;
THENCE South 0 deg.59 min.37 sec.West along the centerline
of aforesaid ditch,being also the existing corporate boundary,
a distance of 1043.6 feettothe POINT OF BEGINNING,and
containing within these metes and bounds 10 acres of land,
more or less.(St.John Catholic Church property)
was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m.in the CityCouncilChamber of
the CityHall of the City of Baytown,Texas,on the 13th day
of May,1976,which date is not more than twenty (20)nor
less than ten (10)daysprior to the institution of annex
ationproceedings;and
WHEREAS,notice of such public hearing waspublished in
a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,
Texas,and in the above described territory on the 25th day
of April,1976,which date is not more than twenty (20)nor
less than ten (10)days prior to the date of such public
hearing;and
WHEREAS,the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas,onthe 1st day of January,1975,was 16,737 acres;
and
WHEREAS,the population of the City of Baytown,Texas,
is approximately 50,000 inhabitants;and
WHEREAS,the above described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown,Texas;
and
WHEREAS,the above described territory lies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Baytown,Texas;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS:

Section 1:That the following described land and
territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown,
Texas,is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown,
Texas,and the said territory hereinafter described shall
hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City
of Baytown,Texas,and the present boundary limits of such
City,at the various pointscontiguous to the area herein
after described,are altered and amended soasto include
said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown,
Texas to wit:

distance of 1043.6 feet to corner,being the Northwest
corner of the tract herein described;
THENCE over and across said 112.7 acre tract North 89 deg.
48 min.East 442.50 feet to corner,being the Northeast
corner of the tract herein described and said corner situated
on the centerline of the 50foot drainage ditch,said center-
line of drainage ditch being also the West line ofa 76.28
acre tract heretofore conveyed by Wilburn Bros,to Goose
Creek Consolidated Independent School District,said corner
being a point located on the existing corporate boundary of
the City of Baytown,Texas;

THENCE South 0 deg.59min.37 sec.West along the centerline
of aforesaid ditch,being also the existing corporate boundary,
a distance of 1043.6 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,and
containing within these metes and bounds 10 acres of land,
more or less.(St.John Catholic Church property)
Section 2:Theabove described territory andthe area
so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown,Texas,
andthe property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata
part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown,Texas,and
the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the
rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound
by the acts,ordinances,resolutions,and regulations of the
City of Baytown,Texas.
Section 3:This ordinance shall be published and
passed in the manner provided in Article 1,Section 9 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown,Texas.
