Ordinance No. 1,974/0\ ORDINANCE NO.1974 AN ORDINANCE OFTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,ACCEPTING THEBID OF J &M ENTERPRISES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW PARKS AND RECREATION OFFICE IN THE COMMUNITY BUILDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY OFTHESUMOF NINE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX ($946.00)DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT. WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas,did authorize the administration of the City of Baytown,to advertise for bids for the construction of a new Parks and Recreation office in the Community Building to be received March 18,1976;and WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 2368a;and WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:30 o'clock a.m.,Thursday,March 18,1976,as per published notice to bidders;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas,hereby accepts the bid of J &M Enterprises,according to the plans and specifications set forthby the administration of the City of Baytown on a timetable of six (6)calendar days for the sum of Nine Hundred Forty-Six and No/100 ($946.00) Dollars,and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with J &M Enterprises for said construction,containing the plans,specifications,and requirements of the administration of the City of Baytown and appropriate bond and drawnprovisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes, 29 Article 5160 or providing that no money will be paid to said Contractors until completion and acceptance of the work by the City. Section 2:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
