Ordinance No. 1,971ORDINANCE NO.1971 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE,TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITYOF BAYTOWN,TEXAS;REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.1964,AND CANCELING,ANNULLING AND SETTING ASIDE THE HEARING CALLED BY SAID ORDINANCE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THECITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1:That Ordinance No.1964 setting a time, date and place for a public hearing for the 25th day of March,at 7:00 o'clock on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown,Texas of the property herein below described is hereby repealed,rescinded and set aside. Section 2:On the8th day of April,1976,at 7:00 o'clock p.m.in theCity Council Chamber of the CityHall of the City of Baytown,Texas,the City Council willhold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown,Texas,of the following described property,to wit: BEING a tract of land out of the Harvey Whiting Survey,A- 840,including a portion of that certain140.002 acre tract of land conveyed to Gene Branscome by Lillian Wilburn,by deed filed for record on September 11,1974,under County Clerk File Number E254038,Harris County,Texas,and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the existing Corporate Limits of the City of Baytown,Texas,said point being the Northeast corner of Kountry Club Village,Section II Subdivision and the Northwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE,North 89°42'58"East,with the north line of the herein described tract,a distance of 3244.92 feet,to a point situated on the west right-of-way line of Bush Road, being the northeast corner of the herein described tract; THENCE,South 0°35'37"East,with the east line of the herein described tract and the west right-of-way line of Bush Road,a distance of 1265.99 feet to a point,said point being located on the corporate boundary of the City of Baytown,Texas; THENCE,South 74°31'40"West,a distance of 981.08 feet to a point; THENCE,North 15°28'20"West,a distance of 280.0 feet to a point of tangency; THENCE,in a northerly direction with a curve to the right having a radius of 548.70 feet,a curvilinear distance of 141.56 feet to a point forcorner; THENCE,South 74°31'40"West,a distance of 150.0 feet to a point for corner; THENCE,North 13O59'24"East,a distance of 175.64 feet to a point; THENCE,North 18°36'13"East,a distance of 70.0 feet to a point; THENCE,North 15°21'47"East,a distance of 82.0 feet to a point; THENCE,North 08°04'27H East,a distance of 82.0 feet to a point; THENCE,North OlQOS'lS11 East,a distance of 82.0 feet to a point for corner; THENCE,South 89°24'23"West,a distance of 175.0 feet to a point; THENCE,South 74°31'40"West,a distance of 1742.12 feet to a point for corner,said point lying on the centerline of GooseCreek Stream; THENCE,Northerly with the meanders of the centerline of Goose Creek Stream as follows:North 7o27'06"West,242.13 feet;North 08°01'58"West,342.98 feet;North 05o17'47" West,147.88 feet;North 34°48'07"West,356.36 feet;and North ll°40'14"West,a distance of 112.16 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,enclosing 74.974 acres,more or less (Quail Hollow,Section III). Section 3:The City Clerk of theCity of Baytown is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty (20)nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing,all in accor dance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160,Acts of the 58th Legislature,Regular Session,1963;compiled as 970a,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,as amended). -2- Section 4:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, INTRODUCED,READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of theCity of Baytown on this 25th day of March,1976.
