AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFBAYTOWN,
TEXAS ACCEPTING THE BID OF R.L.GOODMAN PAINTING
CONTRACTOR FOR THE PAINTING OF EXTERIOR SURFACES AND
HALL CEILINGS OF THE BAYTOWN CIVIC CENTER AND AUTHORIZING
THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BYTHE CITY FOR THE SUM
OF EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($8,500.00)
DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas,did authorize the administration of the City of
Baytown,to advertise for bids forthe painting of exterior
surfaces and hall ceilings of the Baytown Civic Center to be
received March 3,1976;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract for said painting would be let
was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil
Statutes,Article 2368a;and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 10:30 o'clock a.m.,Wednesday,March 3,1976,as per
publishednotice to bidders;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas,hereby accepts the bid of R.L.Goodman Painting
Contractor,according to the plans and specifications set
forth by the administration of the City of Baytown on a
timetable of25 calendar days for the sum of Eight Thousand
Five Hundred and No/100 ($8,500.00)Dollars,and the Mayor
and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed
to execute and attest to a contract with R.L.Goodman
Painting Contractor for said painting,containing the plans,
specifications,and requirements of the administration of
the City of Baytown and appropriate bond and drawn provisions
in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,
Article 5160 or providing that no money will be paid to said
Contractor until completion and acceptance of the work by
the City.
Section 2:This ordinance shalltakeeffect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
