Ordinance No. 1,9096258 ORDINANCE NO.1909 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 18,"MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC,"SECTION 18-117,STOP INTERSECTIONS,PRE SCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF:AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BYTHECITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OFBAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas,in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 18,"Motor Vehicles and Traffic,"Section 18-117,Stop Intersections,does declare the followingdescribed intersection to be a stop inter section : FOUR-WAY STOP FOR THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH MAINAND GULF STREET Section 2:The Chief of Police shall cause the proper signs tobe posted at the above described locations. Section 3:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,unless at the time other wise directed by a police officer. Section 4:Any person violating the provisions of this or dinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. 6259 Section 5:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by theCity Council.The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the officialnews paper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)days after the passage of this ordinance.
