ORDINANCE NO.1902
AN ORDINANCEPROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,ANDTHE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY,WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS.
WHEREAS,a public hearing before the City Council of the
City of Baytown,Texas,where all interested persons were
providedwith an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexa
tion of the followingdescribed property,towit:
BEING a tract of land out of the Harvey Whiting Survey,
A-840 and being a part of that certain 140.002 acre tract
of land conveyed to Gene Branscome by Lillian Wilburn,by
deed filed for record on September 11,1974,under County
Clerk file Number E 254038,Harris County,Texas,and
being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
COMMENCING at a point in the West right of way line
of Busch Road,said point being the Southeast corner
of the above mentioned 140.002 acre tract,said point
also being the Northeast corner of a tract now or
previously owned by Hance Busch;
THENCE South 89 degrees 51 minutes 25 seconds West
with the South line of the above mentioned 140.002
acre tract andthe North line of the HanceBusch tract
a distance of 999.81 feet to a point situated in the
original North right of way line of Baker Road
(80'right of way)said point also being the Northwest
corner of the HanceBusch tract and lying on the
corporate boundary of the City of Baytown;and being
the POINT OF BEGINNING;
THENCE South 89 degrees 51 minutes 25 seconds West with
the original North right of way line of Baker Road and
the corporate boundary of the City of Baytown a distance
of 389.55 feet,to a point;
THENCE North 0 degrees 08 minutes 35 seconds West with
the corporate boundary of the City of Baytown,a
distance of 632.32 feet to a point;
THENCE North 74 degrees 31 minutes 40 seconds East with
the North line of a 120 foot Texas Eastern Pipeline ease
ment,a distance of 1432.38 feet to its intersection
with the West right of way line of Busch Road;
THENCE South 0 degrees 35 minutes 37 seconds East with
the West right of way line of Busch Road and the East
line of this tract a distance of 1010.93 feet to a
Roint,said point being the Southeast corner of the
above mentioned 140.002 acre tract;

THENCE South 89 degrees 51 minutes 25 seconds West with
the South line of the above mentioned 140.002 acre tract
and the North line of the HanceBusch tract a distance
of 999.81 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,enclosing
26.127 acres,more or less.(Quail Hollow,Section II)
was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m.in the City Council Chamber of
the CityHall of the City of Baytown,Texas,on the 9th dayof
October,1975,which date is not more than twenty (20)nor less
than ten (10)days prior to the institution of annexation
proceedings;and
WHEREAS,notice of such public hearing was published in
a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,
Texas,and in the above describedterritory on the 28th day of
September,1975,which date is not more than twenty (20)nor less
than ten (10)days prior to the date of such public hearing;
and
WHEREAS,the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas on the 1st day of January,1975,was 16,737 acres;and
WHEREAS,the population of the City of Baytown,Texas,is
approximately 50,000 inhabitants;and
WHEREAS,the above described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown,Texas;
and
WHEREAS,the above described territory lies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Baytown,Texas;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the following described land and
territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown,
Texas,is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown,
Texas,andthe said territory hereinafter described shall
hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City
of Baytown,Texas,and the present boundary limits of such
City,at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter
described,are altered and amended so as to includesaid
area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown,Texas,
to wit:

Section 2:The above described territory and the area
so annexed shallbe a part of the City of Baytown,Texas,andthe
property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes
levied by the City of Baytown,Texas,andthe inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the

citizens and shall be bound by the acts,ordinances,resolutions,
and regulations oftheCity of Baytown,Texas.
Section 3:This ordinance shall be published and
passed in the manner provided in Article 1,Section 9 of the
Charter of the City of Baytown,Texas.
