Ordinance No. 1,8896217 ORDINANCE NO.1889 /o, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF YIELD SIGNSAT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS ANDTHE POSTING OF STOP SIGNS AT SAID INTER SECTION;PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN TEXAS: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas,pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,does declare the following described intersections tobe stop intersections,to wit: Scenic Drive at Garth Road Harold Lane at Garth Road Lloyd Lane at Garth Road Section 2:The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described locations. Section 3:And further,the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,pursuant to the provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,does declare that the following described intersections will no longer be yield intersections,to wit: Scenic Drive at Garth Road Harold Lane at Garth Road Lloyd Lane at Garth Road Section 4:The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to cause the removal of the yield signs at the above described locations. 6218 Section 5:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the instructions of the signs posted in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer. Section 6:Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each violation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 7:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is herebydirected to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within (10)days after the passage of this ordinance.
