ORDINANCE NO.1865
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FORTHE ENSUING FISCAL
YEAR,BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1975,AND ENDING SEPTEMBER
30,1976,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION
OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS,the City Manager of the City of Baytown has
submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the
revenues of said city andthe expenses of conducting the
affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year,beginning
October 1,1975,and endingSeptember 30,1976,and which
said estimate has been compiled from detailed information
obtained from the severaldepartments,divisions,and
offices of the city containing all information as required
by the Charter of the City of Baytown;and
WHEREAS,theCity Council has received said City Manager's
estimate and held a public hearingthereon so provided by
Section Forty-Four (44)of the Charter;and
WHEREAS,after a full and final consideration of the
public hearing,itis the opinion of the Council that the
budget as filed should be approved and adopted;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the budget estimate of the revenues of
the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the
affairsthereof for the ensuing fiscal year,beginning
October 1,1975,and ending September 30,1976,as submitted
to the City Council by the City Manager of saidcity be,and
the same is in all things,adopted and approved as the
budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the
fixed charges against saidcity for the fiscal year beginning
the 1st day of October,1975 and ending September 30,1976.

Section 2:That the sum of SIX MILLION NINE HUNDRED
FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY AND NO/100 ($6,944,230.00)
DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for
the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the
City Government as hereinafter itemized,to wit:
General Government $1,385,614.00
PublicSafety 2,865,134.00
Public Works 1,818,754.00
Public Health 98,641.00
Parks &Recreation 628,246.00
Miscellaneous 147,841.00
TOTAL $6,944,230.00
Section 3:That the sum of TWO MILLION ONE HUNDRED
FOURTHOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE AND NO/100 ($2,104,371.00)
DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and
Sanitary Sewer Fund for the Operating Expenses and Capital
Outlay of the municipality owned Waterworks and Sanitary
Sewage System as hereinafter itemized,to wit:
General Overhead $614,684.00
Water Production 251,943.00
Water Distribution 520,850.00
Waste Water Collection 257,190.00
Waste Water Treatment 375,884.00
Infiltration Abatement 83,820.00
TOTAL $2,104,371.00
Section 4:That the sum of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED
FORTY-NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY AND NO/100 ($1,149,990.00)
DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund Debt
Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and
redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature on the.General
Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized,towit:
Certificates of Obligation $28,000.00
Bond Payment 505,000.00
Interest Payments 615,190.00
Fiscal Agent Fees 1,800.00
TOTAL $1,149,990.00

Section 5:That the sum of TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX
THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-TWO AND NO/100 ($286,492.00)
DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and
Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying
the accuring interest and redeeming theSerial Bonds as they
mature on the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service
Bonds as hereinafter itemized,to wit:
Bond Payment $136,000.00
Interest Payments 150,192.00
Fiscal Agent Fees 300.00
TOTAL $286,492.00
Section 6:The City Manager is hereby authorized to
transfer any unencumbered appropriation balance or portion
thereof between general classifications of expenditures
within an office,department or agency,in accordance with
Section Sixty-Eight (68)of the Charter.
Section 7:This ordinance shall be and remain in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval of
the City Council and it shall be published once each week
for two (2)consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of
the City of Baytown.
READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown at the regular
meeting held at theCityHall in the City of Baytown on the
11th day of September,1975.
