BRIDGE
WITH
WHEREAS,the City Council of the city of Baytown,
Texas,did authorize,Busch,Hutchison s Associates,inc.
Consulting Engineers to the cityof Baytown,to advertise'
for bids for the construction of the West Texas Avenue Goose
Creek Bridge tobe received July 1,197S;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,
when and where the contract for said construction would be
let was publishedpursuant to provisions of Vernon's civil
Statutes,Article 2368a;and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City
Hall at 10=00 o'clock a.m.,as per published notice to
bidders;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the city Council Qf ^^Qf ^^
Texas,hereby accepts thebid of Hanna Construction,according
to the plans and specifications set forth by the Consulting
Engineers for the sum of Two Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Nine
Hundred Fifty and No/100 ($236,950.00)Dollars and the
Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and
directed to execute and attest to a contract with Hanna
Construction for the construction of said bridge,containing
the plans,specifications,and requirements of the Consulting
Engineersand appropriate bond and drawn provisions in
accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,
Article 5160.

Section 2:That,pursuant to the provisions of Article
2368a,Section 2a,Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes,the
City Manager is hereby grantedgeneral authority to approve
any change order involving a decrease or an increase in
costs of Five Thousand and No/100 ($5,000.00)Dollars or
less,subject to the proviso thatthe originalcontract
price may not be increased by more than twenty-five (25%)
percent or decreased by more than twenty-five (25%)percent
without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City ofBaytown.
INTRODUCED,READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council onthis 10th day of July,1975.
