Ordinance No. 1,795ORDINANCE NO.1795 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDINGFOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY,WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS. WHEREAS,a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity tobe heard on the proposed annexation of the followingdescribed property,to wit: BEGINNING at a point on the South right of way line of Interstate Highway 10,said point being 1,169.79 feet South 64 degrees 05 minutes West of the intersection of the West line of the Huber Corporation property andthe Southright of way line of Interstate Highway 10; THENCE,South 64 degrees 05 minutes West along the South right of way line of Interstate Highway 10 a distance of 1,422.70 feet to a concrete monument forthe Northwest corner of this tract; THENCE,South 09 degrees 29 minutes 50 seconds East parallel with the West line of said Huber Corporation tract,at 1,464.58 feet pass concrete monument,and in all 1,494.58 feet to a point in Needle Point Road on the South lineof Share "B"for the Southwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE,North 80 degrees 30 minutes 50 secondsEast along Needle Point Roadand the South lineof Share "B" a distance of 1,364.68 feet to the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE,North 09 degrees 29 minutes 30 seconds West parallel to the West line of said Huber Corporation tract a distance of 1,896.99 feetto the South right of way line of Interstate Highway 10,being the POINT OF BEGINNING,and containing 53.127 acres of land out of Share "B,"Win.Bloodgood Survey,Harris County, Texas,(j.m.Huber Corporation Property) was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m.in the City CouncilChamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown,Texas,on the 8th day of May,1975,which date is not morethan twenty (20)nor less than ten (10)days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings;and WHEREAS,notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas,and in the above described territory on the 25th day of April,1975,which date is not more than twenty (20)nor less than ten (10)days prior to the date of such public hearing;and WHEREAS,the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas on the 1st day of January,1975,was 16,737 acres;and WHEREAS,the population of the City of Baytown,Texas, is approximately 50,000 inhabitants;and WHEREAS,the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown,Texas; and WHEREAS,the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown,Texas;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:That the following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown,Texas,is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown,Texas,and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown,Texas,and the present boundary limits of such City,at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described,are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown,Texas,to wit: BEGINNING at a point on the South right of way line of Interstate Highway 10,said pointbeing 1,169.79 feet South 64 degrees 05 minutes West of the intersection ofthe West lineof the Huber Corporation property and the South right of way line of Interstate Highway J.U; THENCE,South 64 degrees 05 minutes West along the South right of way line of Interstate Highway 10 a distance of 1,422.70feet to a concrete monument forthe Northwest corner of this tract; -2- THENCE,South 09 degrees 29 minutes 50 seconds East parallel with the West line of said Huber Corporation tract,at 1,464.58 feet pass concrete monument,and in all 1,494.58feet to a point in Needle Point Road on the South line of Share "B"forthe Southwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE,North 80 degrees 30 minutes 50 seconds East along Needle Point Road and the South line of Share "B" a distance of 1,364.68 feet to the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE,North 09 degrees 29 minutes 30 seconds West parallel to the West line of said Huber Corporation tract a distance of 1,896.99 feet to the Southright of way line of Interstate Highway 10,being the POINT OF BEGINNING,and containing 53.127 acres of land out of Share "B,"Wm.Bloodgood Survey,Harris County,Texas. 'Section 2:The above describedterritory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown,Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown,Texas,and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts,ordinances,resolutions,and regulations of the City of Baytown,Texas. Section 3:This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1,Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown,Texas.
