ORDINANCE NO.1779
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS,PROHIBITING RIGHTS TURNS ONTO ALEXANDER DRIVE
(STATE HIGHWAY 146)FROM WARD ROAD IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
HARRIS COUNTY,TEXAS,ON STEADY RED SIGNALS,PROVIDING A
MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF,AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THECITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1:That theCity Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas,does hereby prohibit rightturns onto Alexander Drive
(State Highway 146)from Ward Road in the City of Baytown,
Harris County,Texas,on steady red signals.
Section 2:The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and
directed to cause the proper notice to be posted at the above
described locations.
Section 3:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle
to disobey the instructions of the signs placed in accordance
with the provisions of thisordinance,unless at the time
otherwise directed by a police officer.
Section 4:Anypersonviolating the provisions of this
ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more thanTwo
Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each violation shall constitute
a separate offense.
Section 5:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take
effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by the
City Council.The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice
hereof by causing publication of the caption of this ordinance
within ten (10)days after its passage.
