AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE,TIME AND PLACE FOR A
PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS;AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH
PUBLIC HEARING ANDPROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THECITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1:On the 13th day of March,1975,at 7:00 o'clock
p.m.in the City Council Chamber of the CityHall of the
City of Baytown,Texas,the City Council will hold a public
hearing giving all interested parties the right to appear
and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of
Baytown,Texas,of the following described property,to wit:
BEGINNING at a concrete monument on the Southright of
way line of Interstate Highway 10,said concrete mon
ument being Northwest corner of 106.254 acre tract
transferred to J.M.Huber Corporation by Gulf Oil
Corporation by deed under date of November 30,1962 of
record in Volume 4964,Page 351 of the Deed Records of
Harris County,Texas;
THENCE South 64°05'West a distance of519.30 feet to
a pointalong South right of way line of Interstate
Highway 10;
THENCE North 09o29'50"West 460.25 feet across Inter
state Highway 10 to a point beyond the North right of
way lineof said highway;
THENCE South 80°30I10"West a distance of 1900.00
feet to a point;
THENCE North 09o29'50"West a distance of 3613.10
feet to a point;
THENCE North 80o30'10"East a distance 2400.00 feet
to a point;
THENCE South 09°29'50"East a distance of 3938.35 feet
across Interstate Highway 10 right of way to the place
Of BEGINNING.
Being a tract containing 203.57acres,of which 3.57
acres is Interstate Highway 10 right of way.(Gulf Tract)
Section 2:The City Clerk ofthe City of Baytown is
hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such
public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having
general circulation in the city and in the above described
territory not more thantwenty (20)days nor less than ten
(10)days prior tothe date of such public hearing,all in
accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160,
Acts of the58th Legislature,Regular Session,1963;compiled
as 970a,Vernon's TexasCivil Statutes,as amended).
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage bythe City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED,READ and PASSED bythe affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 27th day of
February,1975.
