AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS;APPROVING AND ACCEPTING LEGAL SERVICES RENDERED
BY FULBRIGHT &JAWORSKI;RECEIVINGANDACCEPTING THE
STATEMENT FOR SAID LEGAL SERVICES;AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING PAYMENT OF SAID FEES;AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS,the law firm of Fulbright &Jaworski by Ordinance
No.1725 adopted onthe 19th day of December,1974,was
retained to represent the Baytown Area Water Authority and
the City of Baytown in negotiations and proceedings with the
Texas Water Development Board,the City of Houston,theSan
Jacinto River Authority,and other interested persons to
obtain a supply of surface water for the Baytown Area Water
Authority and the City of Baytown,consistent with the
terms,ratesand fees contained in the proposal presented to
Council byletter dated October 18,1974;and
WHEREAS,the firm of Fulbright &Jaworski has presented
the Baytown Area Water Authority with a statement in the
amount of Five Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen and 58/100
($5,517.58)Dollars for professional services rendered
through December 31,1974;and
WHEREAS,the firm of Fulbright &Jaworski has rendered
these services in accordance with their proposal of October
18,1974;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Council hereby accepts and
approves the above referred to statement for legal service
rendered by the law firm of Fulbright &Jaworski for services
rendered in negotiations and proceedings with the Texas
Water Development Board,the City of Houston,theSan Jacinto
River Authority,and other interested persons to obtain a
supply of surface water for the Baytown Area Water Authority
and the City of Baytown.
Section 2:That the payment of legal fees in the
amount of Five Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen and 58/100
($5,517.58)Dollars is hereby authorized and directed.
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect fromand
after its passage by the City Council ofthe City of Baytown,
Texas.
INTRODUCED,READ and PASSED bythe affirmative vote of
the City Council ofthe City of Baytown this 27thday of
February,1975.
