AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
APPROVING THE PROPOSAL OF THE HONORABLE TOM ALEXANDER OF THE LAW
FIRM OF BUTLER, BINION, RICE, COOK & KNAPP DATED SEPTEMBER 13,
1974, WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, AND RE-
TAINING SAID FIRM FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICE TO BE RENDERED IN THE
DEFENSE OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION BROUGHT AGAINST THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
BY MRS. PEARL DOUCET AND MRS. HELEN DOUCET, CONSISTENT WITH THE
TERMS, RATES, AND FEES SET FORTH IN SAID PROPOSAL AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
approves the proposal of the Honorable Tom Alexander of the law firm of Butler,
Binion, Rice, Cook & Knapp, dated September 13, 1974, which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes, and hereby retains the
the said firm to represent the City of Baytown, Texas, in the defense of the
cause of action brought against the City of Baytown by Mrs. Pearl Doucet and
Mrs. Helen Doucet, consistent with the terms, rates, and fees contained in
the proposal of the said Tom Alexander.
Section 2: Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council
on this 26th day of September , 1974.

Re: Claims brought against the City of Baytown by the
Doucet Brothers
Dear Neel:
I will be pleased to work with you on the trial aspects
of the captioned claims. My fee is $75.00 per hour. If I use
younger associates in the.firm, their fee will range from $40.00
per hour to $60.00 per hour, depending upon their experience.
We keep records of our time and I will, of course, be
subject to your direction as to the aspects of the case to which
my time is devoted.
