AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOFBAYTOWN,TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF AYIELD RIGHT OF WAY SIGN FOR WEST
BAYSHORE AT BAYSHORE DRIVE WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,PROVIDING
FOR A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)DOLLARS
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF,AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS,Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,provides that local
authorities in their respective jurisdiction may place and maintain anytraffic
control device upon any highway under their jurisdiction as they may deem neces
sary,taking into consideration the usual traffic flow of the streets or highways
*within their jurisdiction.Said governing body may determine that various local
traffic control devices are necessary,and shall direct said appropriate devices
be erected,by the passage of an ordinance,which shall be effective when ap
propriate signs givingnotice thereof are erected at such intersection or other
place or partof the street or highway;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:On the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation here
tofore made as authorized by the provisions of Article 6701d,Vernon's Texas
Civil Statutes,a yieldright of way sign shall be posted for West Bayshore
at Bayshore Drive.
f*Section 2:The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to cause
the proper sign tobe posted at the above described location.
Section 3:Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be
punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred and No/100 ($200.00)Dollars,
and each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 4:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10)days from its passage by the City Council.The City Clerk is hereby di
rected to give notice hereof by causing publication of the caption of this ordinance
within ten (10)days after its passage.
