Ordinance No. 1,654( ORDINANCE NO.1654 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTINGA BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR,BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1974,AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,1975,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS,the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said city and the expenses ofcon ducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year,beginning October 1, 1974,and ending September 30,1975,and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments,divisions,and offices of the city containing all information as required bythe Charter of the City of Baytown;and WHEREAS,the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held a public hearingthereon so provided by Section Forty-Four (44)of the Charter; and WHEREAS,after a full and final consideration of the public hearing it is the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1:That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown andthe expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1,1974 and ending September 30,1975,as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said city be,and the same isin all things, adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said city for the fiscal year beginning the1st day of October,1974,and ending September 30,1975. Section 2:That the sumof SIX MILLION FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE AND NO/100 ($6,015,421.00)DOLLARS is-hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the City Government as hereinafter itemized,to wit: General Government $1,157,106.00 Public Safety 2,442,568.00 Public Works 1,609,363.00 Public Health 90,720.00 Parks &Recreation 520,379.00 Miscellaneous 195,285.00 TOTAL $6,015,421.00 Section 3:That the sum of ONE MILLION NINE HUNDRED TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX AND NO/100 ($1,902,786.00)DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund for the Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the municipality owned Waterworks and Sanitary Sewage System as hereinafter itemized,to wit: General Overhead $639,124.00 Water Production 206,402.00 Water Distribution 462,102.00 Waste Water Collection 200,854.00 Waste Water Treatment 304,938.00 Infiltration Abatement 89,366.00 TOTAL $1,902,786.00 Section 4:That the sum of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY-SIX ANDNO/100 ($1,159,246.00)DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund Debt Service forthe purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature on the General Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized,towit: Certificates of Obligation $24,000.00 Bond Payment 497,000.00 Interest Payments 636,446.00 Fiscal Agent Fees 1,800.00 TOTAL $1,159,246.00 Section 5:That thesum of TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND EIGHTY-SEVEN AND NO/100 ($262,087.00)DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature on the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized,to wit: Bond Payment $136,000.00 Interest Payments 112,692.00 Fiscal Agent Fees 275.00 Due Water Fund 13,120.00 TOTAL $262,087.00 -2- Section 6:The City Manager,is hereby authorized to transfer any unen cumbered appropriation balance or portion thereof between general classifications of expenditures within an office,department or agency,in accordancewith Section Sixty-Eight (68)of the Charter. Section 7:This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval of the City Council and it shall be published onceeachweek for two (2)consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown. READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown at the regularmeeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on the 12th day of September,1974.
