Ordinance No. 1,653ORDINANCE NO.1653 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FORTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,1975,UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITYOF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THESTATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY;AND RE PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTSOF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:There shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September 30,1975,anad valorem tax of ONE AND52/100 ($1.52)DOLLARS for each ONE HUNDRED ($100.00)DOLLARS of assessed value of property located within the city limits of the Cityof Baytown on January 1,1974,made taxable by law,which said taxes,when collected,shall be apportioned among funds and departments ofCity Government of the City of Baytown and for the purposes hereinafter set forth as follows: General Fund Operations $1,159 Debt Service for payment of bonded indebtedness $0,361 TOTAL $1.520 Section 2:The ad valorem tax rate ofONE AND52/100 ($1.52)DOLLARS as set forth in Section 1,is hereby levied and shallbe assessed and collected on only Fifty (50%)percent of each ONE HUNDRED ($100.00)DOLLARS worth of property located within the city limits of the City of Baytown on January 1, 1974,as valued by the Equalization Board of the City of Baytown and made taxable by law. Section 3:The Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Baytown is hereby directed to assess,extend and enter upon the Tax Rolls of the City of Baytown,Texas,for the current year the amounts and rates herein levied, and to keep a currentaccount of the same.All collection ofsuch taxes,as well as collectionof taxes owned for prior years,to include penalty and interest thereon,shall be deposited in the official depository of the City of Baytown tobe distributed between the General Fund and the Debt Service on a basis determined by the percentage thateachof the dollar figures in Section 1 above bear to the above stated tax rate. Section 4:All ordinances are parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the City Council of the Cityof Baytown at its regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on the 12th day of September,1974.
